2018
Rosé of Pinot Noir

Jane's Vineyard - Russian River Valley
Russian River Valley Sonoma County

25.00 750mL

Taste Profile

This inagural vintage of our Rosé shows peach aromas with some citrusy lemongrass, candied watermelon and peach flavors and a fresh, dry, balanced finish.

Vineyard

Janes Vineyard, located in the Santa Rosa Plains neighborhood of the Russian River Valley is made up of the adjacent Lindleys, Crinella and Garfield block 132 acres of Pinot Noir with nine different clones. This small area tends to enjoy the very best of the iconic local climate; never too hot during the day, and consistently chilly at night. Janes Vineyard shows superior vine balance thanks to its well-drained, shallow and low vigor soils. For those reasons, it was an easy decision to create our inaugural vintage of Davis Bynum Rosé of Pinot Noir a beautiful expression of the vineyard, region, and varietal upon which our heritage was built.

The Harvest
The 2018 growing season was dry through the spring, and would end up well below normal precipitation. Cooler weather dominated this vintage, with only two short, relatively mild heat spikes through the entire growing season. Summer days were very pleasant in Sonoma County with highs in the 70s and 80s. Moderately warmer temperatures ushered in early August. We picked the Janes Vineyard clone 113 Pinot Noir on August 29 and a small piece of the clone 828 block on September 17.
